O. Henry delved into a humorous reinterpretation of Sherlock Holmes and it resulted in a few short stories based on a bumbling New York detective known as Shamrock Jolnes. This is one of those stories, but in this case we’re left to wonder if the case isn’t too much for the famed detective. Humor and a suspension of reality are common in these wonderful tales.
