What is Ezekiel’s goal? What mission statement does he provide in his text? What does a study of this book accomplish? In this verse by verse commentary, the reader will examine the writing of Ezekiel as he focuses on Jerusalem, and on Judah's many sins against God in the days before the fall of the Holy City. Throughout these chapters, the prophet puts a divine spotlight on the temple and worship, and highlights the worthiness of God to receive true worship and honor, something which had fallen away in the days of Judah’s sinfulness. The prophet also promises, despite the hard times the people of God were facing, that better days were ahead...days which would be fulfilled in the Era of the Messiah.
