Andrew Murray wrote these meditations, subtitled Thoughts on the Blessed Life of Fellowship with the Son of God, to enrich the Christian life. Using the image of Jesus as the vine and believers as the branches, he explains that many Christians, although they trust the Lord, have not yet experienced the benefits of a day-by-day walk with God, and are, therefore, not experiencing the joy and the power that are gifts of the spirit. The text consists of 31 chapters meant to accompany daily scripture readings. Murray writes from both a theological and a practical perspective about how to abide in Christ in this, one of his most cherished devotional works.
